We promote civic participation and awareness in the state of Tennessee with the emphasis on the importance of voting in casual and intimate settings. We take the COMPLICATED out of civics and put the COMMUNITY back in.
1. We are all equal under the law.
2. Voting is vital to the preservation of democracy.
3. Every citizen shares the privilege
and responsibility to engage.
4. Freedom of speech, assembly,
and press are essential to free society.
5. Participation is critical to life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness.
BriteHeart is a nonpartisan benefit corporation focusing on civic engagement. We have so many ways for you to be involved, and want you. WE make our communities strong, together!

This pledge is designed to address the considerable uncertainty surrounding the Presidential and other elections this year because of COVID-19 and the likely delay in counting votes because of the large number of mail-in votes expected and possible mail delivery delays.
The BriteHeart Democracy First Pledge:
We the People of the United States, in order to preserve and make more perfect our Union, provide for domestic Tranquility and secure the blessings of Liberty and Justice for all, hold these Truths to be self-evident, that:
All Citizens and their Votes shall be treated equally,
No person or government entity shall take any action to prevent or discourage a Citizen from voting lawfully,
All Votes shall be counted,
All Citizens should hold the democratic process and the Constitution above party or candidates,
For the sake of the Public Health, many millions more Votes will be cast by mail this year,
Election officials should do their utmost to count all ballots as soon as possible and advise all Citizens in advance of a realistic deadline for doing so,
We will be patient while the Votes are counted and will not incite or participate in rebellious or divisive partisan action while the Votes are being counted, nor claim victory until reputable, independent sources have so indicated,
We expect all government officials to act in accordance with these Precepts, and
We will hold elected officials accountable at the ballot box for any failure to adhere to these Sacred and Honorable Principles of our Democracy.
We stand together as informed Citizens, with Hope in our ability as a Nation to hold civil, peaceful elections in accordance with our Laws and Democratic Principles and thereby to restore Trust in our system of Government and the Rule of Law.
Signed with Love and Respect for our fellow Citizens and Neighbors, this our Pledge, our Commitment, our Prayer.
